Republican candidate for governor Marc Molinaro has named his choice for lieutenant governor.
Julie Killian is a former deputy mayor of Rye and two-time candidate for the state Senate. The announcement came a few hours after Monroe County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced she would not be Molinaro's running mate.
The state Republican Party is expected to nominate Molinaro, and Killian, at the party's state convention Wednesday.
Molinaro is the Dutchess County Executive.
