A Monroe County grand jury has indicted a woman accused of running off from the scene of a February traffic crash that killed her husband.
Malachia Wallace-Johnson, or Rochester, is charged in the indictment with one count of leaving the scene of a fatal accident. Police say the crash happened as she turned left from Lake Avenue onto Phelps Avenue and collided with an oncoming car. Her husband, Maurice Johnson, was trapped in the wrecked vehicle and died later at Strong.
Wallace-Johnson surrendered to police five days later.
