Mediator Brought in to Try and Avoid Strike at Jordan Health

A federal mediator is bringing both sides back to the bargaining table today in a final attempt to avert a strike at the Anthony L. Jordan Health Center in Rochester.

The union has voted to strike on Monday, unless there's a deal on a new contract. The union represents 65 licensed practical nurses, medical technicians, nursing assistants, clerical, and service employees.

Their last contract expired at the end of December, and talks have stalled over health insurance costs and a proposed one year wage freeze.
