Prices for gasoline are creeping up.
AAA says the average price for a gallon of regular in the Rochester area rose a penny in the past week to $2.71. The average price statewide rose four cents to $2.77, and the national average price rose five cents to $2.66.
AAA says strong demand and tighter inventories helped drive up the price. Domestic production remains high, and the U.S. sent nearly 1.1 million barrels of gasoline to other countries last week -- the fourth largest export figure on record.
