Rochester Firefighters Rescue Woman From Genesee River

Rochester firefighters are saying more about the rescue this morning of a woman in the Genesee River.

Firefighter Aaron Smith, with Rescue 11, says they got to the scene soon after a caller in a nearby building saw the woman in the water near the Andrews Street Bridge. Fire officials say it took about 40 minutes to get the woman to safety.

She was tangled in the logjam in the river. The woman was taken by ambulance to the hospital for evaluation of possible injuries and hypothermia. It's not clear how she got into the river.
