Former State Assembly Speaker's Retrial Set for Next Month

A federal judge has handed a setback to former state Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. The judge rejected arguments by his attorneys for the dismissal of the indictment against him.

Silver's retrial is set for April 16 in federal court. His 2015 conviction and 12 year prison sentence were thrown out last year by an appeals court. That court ruled he should be retried with different jury instructions on the public corruption law.
