Perry Town Board Member Facing Murder Charge, Won't be Removed from Post

A town board member in Wyoming County, who is charged with murder, won't be removed from his position.

Perry board member, 60-year-old Joseph Mlyniec, was arrested this month for allegedly shooting and killing Robert Irvine the Third.

At last night's town board meeting, the supervisor said the town wants Mlyniec to resign but can't force him out. He said the town will wait to see if Mlyniec will resign, or is convicted.

Mlyniec is a retired county sheriff's deputy.
