Webster, NY -- State police say they are still looking for leads that would help them close the April 1973 killing of an 11-year-old Rochester girl.
Wanda Walkowicz lived on Avenue D but never returned home from an afternoon errand at a corner store. Her body was found the next day off Route 104 in Webster. She had been strangled and sexually assaulted.
Her unsolved killing was the second of three similar homicides, spanning two years, involving young Rochester girls with double initials. The others were Carmen Colon, in November, 1971, and Michelle Maenza, in November, 1973.
State Police ask anyone with information to contact Troop E Headquarters at 398-4100.
