Two New York State Troopers are in serious condition after being hit by a drunk driver on I-90. The accident happened Sunday morning in East Greenbush. Investigators said Christopher Neumann, 26, hit Troopers Shane Swartz and Brent Karow who were pulled over with a tow truck trying to clear a car that had crashed into the median on I-90 in East Greenbush. Neumann now faces multiple charges, including DWI and first-degree vehicular assault. Troop G Commander Robert Patnaude says his troopers had the scene lit up with flares and emergency lights. Officials say the tow truck operator suffered a laceration to his head, but is expected to be OK. Karow is a six-year veteran out of the Guilderland Barracks, and Swartz is a four-year veteran from the Brunswick Barracks. Both are 34 years old.
