Snow Forecast Upgraded to Winter Storm Warning

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a winter storm warning for the Rochester region and much of western and central New York.  Forecasters are predicting 8 to 14 inches of snow. This comes just days after Rochester saw a new record high of 64 degrees on Wednesday, breaking the old record of 63, set in 1954. The warning will be in effect from Thursday night through Friday night for Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, northern Cayuga, Ontario Wayne, Wyoming and other counties. There is expected to be wind gusts to 30 mph or more, and wet, heavy snow. It could create difficult travel conditions overnight.
