Opponents of a trash incinerator planned for Seneca County are in Albany today to urge state officials to block it.
The residents and business owners say the so-called Waste-to-Energy proposal poses a serious risk to the environment and quality of life in the Finger Lakes. Plans call for the incinerator to be built at the former Seneca Army Depot in Romulus. It would burn trash from New York City.
The developer is Rochester-based Circular enerG -- a company the opponents say has no experience in the solid waste industry.
