Gorge Rescue at Letchworth State Park

We're learning more about the gorge rescue yesterday evening at Letchworth State Park.

A couple from the Buffalo area were hiking with their dogs near Hogsback overlook when they were trapped shortly before dark about 200 feet down from the rim.

Authorities say the trouble started when the dogs broke away from the owners, and the owners followed them into the ravine. The rescue required a rope rescue by state park police, with help from area firefighters.

Bob Lonsberry was there, got some photos, and you can see them on his twitter feed.
