It's the end of an era for the fire department on the Xerox Webster campus.
It reportedly is closing today after some 60 years of service.
The four fire marshals are part of the Xerox workforce -- mostly as mechanics -- and will keep their jobs. They will assist Webster firefighters with on-site coverage.
A source says retirements, low enrollment and the recent spin off of the Conduent business contributed to the closing decision.
