Gov. Cuomo Credits Excelsior Scholarships for Increase in SUNY Applications

Governor Cuomo is crediting his Excelsior Scholarship program for a jump in applications at the State University of New York and the City University of New York.

The governor says SUNY applications rose nine percent in the year since the program was created, and City University applications rose 11 percent.

New Yorkers with household incomes up to $110,000 are eligible from free tuition at the public universities. That threshold climbs to $125,000 for the 2019-20 academic year. Students must be enrolled full-time.
