The number of flu related deaths in Monroe County continues to climb. Five people have died of complications from the flu since the flu season began on October first. According to a report from the Monroe County Health Department ending the week of January 13th, the two addition deaths that were reported were people over the age of 74. (One person between the age of 75 and 84 and another person 85 or older.)There are more than 13 hundred confirmed flu cases in the county and nearly 400 people needing to be hospitalized.
