The Department of Health would look into how legalizing the drug could affect the economy. The study would also analyze how law enforcement would be affected. Massachusetts legalized marijuana in 2016. New Jersey's new Governor Phil Murphy has also advocated for legalizing marijuana. Murphy has said it could generate millions of dollars in revenue for the Garden State.
