An inmate at the Livingston County Jail is facing charges after she allegedly attacked a deputy Tuesday morning.
The Sheriff’s office says Sharry Habberfield, whose been behind bars since last month on criminal possession of a weapon and grand larceny charges, asked a female deputy to assist her in the common area of her housing unit.
That’s when she allegedly attacked, choked and threatened to kill the deputy - who was able to defend herself until other deputies arrived.
Habberfield is charged with assault on a peace officer, second degree assault and first degree attempted escape. She remains behind bars in lieu of bail.
