Counterfeiters Arrested in Monroe County

Four area people have been arrested in connection with a counterfeit ring that was passing fake $100 bills at Rochester-area businesses.

Brighton Police, Brockport Police and the Monroe County Sheriff's Office arrested the suspects after tips from the public that were confirmed by surveillance video.

Brighton Police Chief Mark Henderson says 20-year-old Lashar McMiller of Canal Street was charged by his department with multiple counts of possessing a forged instrument. Arrested by the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office were 24-year-old Foday Feika, 20-year-old Hilary Dweh and a 15-year-old gir. All are being held either in jail or juvenile detention.

Police say there are still counterfeit bills circulating and other people who were involved in this incident.
