State Comptroller says State Funded Debt Projected to Reach $64 Billion

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli says New York's state-funded debt is projected to reach nearly $64 billion at the end of the current fiscal year and increase by 8 billion over the following four years.

DiNapoli is again calling for reforms to New York’s use of debt, including voter approval of borrowing and better capital planning for infrastructure projects.

New York’s per capita debt is $3,100 or three times the median for all states.
