The Genesee County Planning Board has recommended approval of the new "Euro-style" roller coaster proposed for Darien Lake Theme Park. The proposed roller coaster is replacing an existing ride, the Thunder Rapids log flume. The ride ranges in height from 73 to 141 feet and feature tracks with descents of between 97 and 121 degrees. The Darien Town Planning Board is scheduled to meet at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 20 to consider the plan.
