New Report Shows Fewer Veterans in NY State are Homeless

A new report shows fewer veterans in New York state are homeless.

State Comptroller Tom DiNapoli says the number of homeless vets fell 78 percent over five years -- from more than 5,700 in 2011 to fewer than 1,250 last year.

That's true even though the state's overall homeless population has grown by more than a third.

But DiNapoli says uncertainty about federal funding could jeopardize programs that help homeless vets.
