A Rochester man has admitted selling counterfeit coins on Craigslist. Federal prosecutors say Timothy Meacham advertised the sale of two authentic U.S. gold collector coins in May, and a Pennsylvania man answered the ad and came to Rochester to buy the coins for $5,000 cash. After he got home, the buyer learned the coins were fake and contacted the Secret Service. Meachem pleaded guilty yesterday and will be sentenced in February.
