About 80 employees of Alstom Corporation in Rochester are expected to lose their jobs...as the company moves work to other plants.
An Alstom spokesman says the company that maintains railroad equipment is relocating jobs related to manufacturing hardware. Alstom will take measures including helping the affected workers to relocate to the other plant sites.
The changes are expected between December and March. The company says it remains committed to the Rochester area and will eventually be adding 40 non-manufacturing workers to its Rochester plant. Alstom currently has about 450 workers in Rochester.
