Regional Transit Service is studying its first system-wide route overhaul in decades, and as part of that process it has a survey up on its website.
The transit service has had survey takers riding its buses for the past week, handing out bus passes in return for filling out a survey on how they use RTS.
They’d like the rest of the public to weigh in on the system redesign and whether the existing bus routes run where people actually need to go.
RTS hasn’t substantially revised its routes in 25 years, and wants to know if they still make sense. CEO Bill Carpenter says they don’t care if you ride the bus every day or have never been on one, they’re inviting you to fill out the survey.
The first of several public information sessions will be held tomorrow evening at 6:00 at the SUNY Brockport Metrocenter, across St. Paul Street from the Transit Center.
