The Ontario County Sheriff's Office says deputies rescued a 60-year-old disabled man at a fire scene in the Town of Canandaigua.
The fire was reported around 10 last night at Liberty Apartments on Parkside Drive.
Authorities say the man fled outside from the burning apartment. He was found in a wheelchair on a first-floor patio, unable to get over the patio railing. Deputies lifted him and moved him to safety.
He suffered facial burns and smoke inhalation. Another man also needed treatment for smoke inhalation. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
