Thousands of homes and businesses in the area are still without power because of the powerful storm yesterday afternoon.
Soon after it was over, more than 16,000 RG&E customers were without power. NYSEG has a total of about 2,200 customers without power in the Rochester area counties.
RG&E expects to have power restored to the most of its customers by tonight.
The company says it continues to shift resources to the affected areas and will do so until power is restored to every customer.
