Ontario County Man Facing Animal Cruelty Charges

An Ontario County man is facing animal cruelty charges after leaving his 2-year-old pit bull outside without shelter, food, or water. The Ontario County Humane Society said they found a 2-year-old pit bull named Kane lying in a hole in the yard at the Spring Brook Mobile Home Park in Clifton Springs.. The dog suffered from ear infections that were so severe that his left ear canal was completely swollen shut and his left ear was swollen to the point his ear was sticking straight out. The dog was operated on and is being cared for by the Humane Society. The dog's owner, 41-year-old Charles Drover Jr., was arrested and charged with failure to provide sustenance to an animal, not providing shelter to an animal left outside, and having an unlicensed and unvaccinated dog. He was issued an appearance ticket and will appear in Manchester Town Court.
