A man awaiting trial for a Wayne County homicide is now being charged in an attack on guards at the county jail.
The Sheriff's Office says Knowledge Couser struck a sergeant on the side of the head and took a swing at another officer -- but missed -- in the scuffle last week.
Couser has been in custody since he was charged in June with the February murder of Julie Martin at her mobile home in Ontario.
Authorities say he led a plot with Martin's daughter and two other people to kill Martin to collect her life insurance benefits.
