New Trial Date Set for Michael Stagles

A new date has been set for the trial of Michael Stagles on a criminally negligent homicide charge in the death last year of his three-year-old daughter Brook.

The new date is November 13th, and he is expected to decide soon whether he will waive his right to have a jury hear the case.

Testimony in girlfriend Erica Bell's murder trial wrapped up last week, and the judge is expected to announced a verdict Friday.

Brook Stagles died last November, after authorities say her intestine was ruptured by punches to the abdomen. She wasn't taken to the hospital for two days, and died after emergency surgery.
