Water on Irondequoit Bay Low Enough to Open Public Boat Launch

The water on Irondequoit Bay is finally low enough for the town to open the public boat launch at Irondequoit Bay State Marine Park.

The launch will open Saturday and the Town will be offering a reduced weekend launch fee.

New to this year, the Town will be accepting the state-issued “Empire Pass” -- which provides unlimited access to state-owned boat launches throughout New York.

The Town has also installed an automated payment system for boaters. The water remains higher than normal, and boaters must travel at idle speed within 500 feet of the shore, and create no wake in all other parts of the Bay.
