Rochester police have arrested a city man for an assault on a taxi driver.
It happened around 11 p.m. last night on Liberty Pole Way.
City police say Eugene Hutchings tried to rob the cab driver who had given him a lift. When the driver resisted, police say the driver was cut numerous times with a knife.
Hutchings ran off but was found in the 100 block of North Clinton. He's being charged with assault and attempted robbery.
