New York State Police are continuing to investigate the 1983 death of a Florida woman found in Orleans County. In October of that year the body of 20-year-old Shari Lynne Ball was found by a hunter, several feet off the shoulder of State Route 63 in the Town of Shelby. Authorities say her body was badly decomposed leading them to believe her body had been there for several months.Ball’s family in Florida had reported her missing in June of 1983. At the time of her disappearance, Ball was living in Boca Raton and had told her family that she was going to New York State with an unknown friend to pursue a modeling career. Anyone with any information is asked to contact State Police.
