Jury selection is expected to start this morning for the trial of one of three men charged in the mass shooting nearly two years ago outside the Boys and Girls Club on Genesee Street.
Michael Mathis is charged with first- and second-degree murder in the shooting deaths of three men. Four other men were wounded when the shots were fired into a crowd leaving a basketball game.
Co-defendant Johnny Blackshell was sentenced to life without parole. And co-defendant Jalen Everett was acquitted on all counts at a re-trial in January.
