State announces more mobile command centers to assist flood victims

As area residents continue to deal with the effects of the rising water on Lake Ontario, the state is providing more resources for those in need of insurance help.

Governor Cuomo announced that additional Department of Financial Services Mobile Command Centers are being deployed over the next five days to assist flood victims in New York's counties bordering the lake.

Last week Cuomo declared a State of Emergency for all of the counties bordering Lake Ontario.  The move was made to expedite repair to impacted structures and construction of shoreline stabilization projects.

The full list of locations and times for the DFS Command Center and the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services’ Office of Emergency Management Command Centers is below.

The state says those who are not able to visit the Mobile Command Centers can call the Department's Disaster Hotline at 1-800-339-1759, Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 p.m. for help with insurance-related issues.
