Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren has locked up the endorsement of the city's Democratic Party for another term.
A vote last night by one of the city's district committees put Warren over the top.
The formal announcement will come at the party convention May 18th. In a statement, Warren thanked committees who stood with her -- in her words -- "even when party bosses tried to push a different outcome."
Challenger James Sheppard notes endorsed candidates have often lost Democratic mayoral primaries. And challenger Rachel Barnhart calls the endorsement process "the ultimate insider game."
The primary will be held in September.
