Monroe County is asking the state and federal government for help dealing with the rising levels of Lake Ontario. The water level is about 20 inches above normal and is causing flooding in many shoreline homes. High winds sent waves over breakwalls along Edgemere Drive in Greece. The flood warnings were discontinued after the winds shifted last night. Flooding has been reported in Greece, Parma and Hamlin.County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo says county officials will be supplying state and federal authorities with video and photos of the damage to press for relief.
