Lawmakers Pushing To Keep Sex Offenders From Driving Uber Upstate

Some New York lawmakers are trying to close a loophole that could allow low level sex offenders to drive for ride-hailing companies such as Uber. 

High and medium level sex offenders are barred permanently -- but low level offenders are only barred for seven years.  

As Uber and Lyft are preparing to expand statewide this summer, several lawmakers are working to amend the law to prevent customers from being driven around by a sex offender.
