New York State Police have released the names of the two children killed in a crash on the New York State Thruway Monday morning. According to police, Amir, 9, and Shamel, 11, Middleton died at the scene of the crash. The brothers were from Buffalo. The accident happened between exits 42 (Geneva) and 43 (Manchester) around 5:45 a.m. New York State Police said when they arrived a 1997 Nissan Pathfinder was on its side in the right lane. The driver of the SUV, 31-year-old Sean Ferguson of Buffalo, remains in critical condition at Strong Memorial Hospital. The passenger in the SUV, 34-year-old Shenaya Washington of Buffalo, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
