Pittsford School District Wants To Exceed State Property Tax Cap In Next Budget

The Pittsford School District wants to exceed the state property tax cap in the next budget.

The school board has approved a 134-million-dollar budget that raises the tax levy by nearly five percent.

The superintendent says the district needs the money to pay down debts and for other projects -- including full-day Kindergarten.

To exceed the state tax cap, at least 60 percent of voters must vote "Yes" in the upcoming budget vote.
