Fundraisers For Irondequoit Student Hit by Car

Irondequoit police have identified the student hit by a vehicle Thursday morning as Michael Lynch.  The 14-year-old was struck around 8 a.m. at the intersection of Winona Blvd. and Cooper Road while crossing the street. The accident was less than two blocks away from the West Irondequoit middle and high schools. Two fundraisers have been set up online for Lynch's family. According to the fundraisers, Lynch's mother is also battling cancer.  You can find the gofundme fundraisers HERE and HERE.  Michael Lynch is currently in critical condition. Police say the driver was not speeding or distracted and tried to avoid the student, but was unable.
