Livingston County Sheriff Supports Bill That Requires Recording Interrogations

Livingston County Sheriff Tom Dougherty is a supporter of a bill that would require police make a video recording of interrogations of persons in custody for serious felonies.

He says the bill does give police and prosecutors some latitude for unusual circumstances. Dougherty says many law enforcement agencies already make -- and store -- the recordings, anyway.

The bill is pending in the state legislature.
