Former Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard's Mayoral Campaign Claiming Some Momentum

Former Rochester Police Chief James Sheppard's campaign for mayor is claiming some momentum following votes by Democratic committees on the city's eastside.

The campaign says Sheppard earned nearly 60 percent of the vote from nearly 200 Democrats in the 21st, 23rd and 24th legislative districts.

He previously won three districts on the northwest side -- but four city districts have not yet voted.

He's battling incumbent Mayor Lovely Warren and former TV reporter Rachel Barnhart for the party endorsement. The losers could still wage a primary fight.
