The Cuomo Administration has announced the owners of the Fingers Lakes track and its nearby 'racino' are getting Video Lottery Terminal funds.
The move is expected to help subsidize racing. About 600-thousand to one-million dollars is expected to be committed annually toward the horse racing purses.
In return, horsemen have agreed to supply a guaranteed number of entries per race.
Del Lago casino will also be contributing about 440-thousand dollars toward Finger Lakes purses. The Finger Lakes track has worried for more than a year the Del Lago casino would cut into business and threaten its survival.
