Rochester officials say they're going to restart planning on the Port of Rochester.
Mayor Lovely Warren says she wants a reset because of a groundswell of opposition to the last effort.
The mayor is asking the City Council to hire the Community Design Center Rochester. This organization would lead talks with the community over the best use of the port area.
The mayor says something is going to happen there, but it should be the right thing. In the past, the city thought a ten-story hotel and condo tower was the right thing. Two more buildings were planned, but developers struggled to secure funding.
