A Rochester teenager is being held on $100,000 cash bail on a charge he tried to kill a city police officer. Sixteen-year-old suspect Ernestiaze Moore pleaded not guilty this morning and is scheduled to have a preliminary hearing Friday. Police say the trouble started yesterday on Santee Street with a report of someone firing a gun. When Officer Kelly Phillips approached a person matching the gunman's description, that person fired a shot in her direction. Phillips wasn't hurt and did not return fire. Moore was arrested minutes later near Dewey Avenue and Emerson Street. Moore is charged with attempted second-degree murder.
