The Monroe County Sheriff's Office says two deputies were injured in an accidental shooting in Hilton. Deputies, the Hilton Fire Department and ambulance crews were called to a home in the village for a report of two people being shot over the weekend. The department says the deputies had finished cleaning a gun at a private home when one of them accidentally dropped the weapon, and pulled the trigger while trying to catch it. Both men were seriously hurt, but are expected to recover.A 12-year-old girl, the daughter of one of the deputies, applied pressure on the wounds until medical help arrived.An internal investigation has begun. The Sheriff's Office isn't releasing names so far.
