Evans announces city council bid

Rochester, NY- City school board member Malik Evans has announced that he is running for Rochester City Council. 

Evans has been on the Rochester Board of Education since 2003 and served as board president from 2008 to 2013. 

All five at-large spots on the city council are up for grabs this November and at least two of those seats will have new faces.  

Council members Matt Haag and Carolee Conklin have announced they won't seek re-election.  Jacklyn Ortiz and Dana Miller will be looking for a 3rd and 4th term respectively.  Current council President Loretta Scott's term is also up.
