The NY State Education Department has released high school graduation rates for students who entered 9th grade in the fall of 2012.
The graduation rate was 79.4 percent -- that is up 1.3 percentage points from students who began 9th grade the previous year. The state graduation rate has improved more than 12 points in ten years.
In Rochester, the rate improved from 45.5 to 47.5 percent -- that's still the lowest of the state’s Big 5 city school districts. All 5 made gains.
