Frontier Communications wants to stop handing out phone books.The company has filed with the State Public Service Commission asking to discontinue the automatic distribution of printed telephone directories to all its customers. Frontier says a study in 2014 found just six percent of Americans use the White Pages as their primary source for looking up phone numbers.Frontier also says it goes through about 11 metric tons of paper each year printing phone books.Verizon was allowed to drop its White Pages last year.
