Woman Indicted on Arson Charges in Monroe Ave Fire

A Monroe County Grand Jury is indicting a woman on arson charges. Caitlyn Acoff has been indicted on a count of second degree arson, two counts of assault and reckless endangerment. Acoff is accused of causing the multiple-alarm fire at 976 Monroe Avenue, which gutted the building and put the lives of the residents at risk.

The fire also trapped two firefighters who were making sure all the tenants had escaped, forcing them to declare a "Mayday."

The fire caused millions of dollars in damage.
